Alice DiSanto has executive leadership experience with the Global Fortune 500, three upstart companies and a regional hospital. As a marketing, sales and public relations professional, she has industry knowledge of automotive, security, technology, healthcare, direct marketing, and nonprofit. Specific to cutting-edge technology would be her time spent with Toyota Motor Sales, USA, and Sharp Electronics Corporation’s robotics division.
Alice’s entry serving the security industry began in 2015 in her role as Director of Marketing for Sharp Robotics Business Development. She positioned the first-ever, Sharp INTELLOS A-UGV outdoor robot to earn five (5) security industry awards within the first 18 months, a distinction unmatched by other early entries to the ground-based robotics security market. Alice conceived and curated Robolliance, the security industry’s original awareness forum, founded by Sharp, to drive understanding and adoption of autonomous security robotics. Based on the exemplary complement of industry experts, Robolliance was asked to be an inaugural partner of ISC’s first Unmanned Security Expo in 2016.
Alice’s many articles and interviews can be found within security trade publications and the Security Industry Association (SIA). Of note is Alice’s service to the SIA Women in Security Forum and the SIA Marketing Committee.
Alice is a greatly sought-after consultant and volunteer for her ability to lead cross-functional work teams and advisory boards on marketing strategy. Gretchen West serves as Senior Advisor focusing on Innovation and Technology at Hogan Lovells and is a member of the firm’s Global Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Group in Silicon Valley. Gretchen is also a leading policy advocate in the firm’s Government Regulatory practice group, with a focus on drone technology, automated driving and other global initiatives and innovative technologies. Gretchen also serves as co-executive director of the non-profit Commercial Drone Alliance and is a founder of the Women of Commercial Drones group.
Gretchen has served the unmanned systems and drone industry over a decade and is an industry-leading advocate for commercial drones, innovation, entrepreneurship and robotics. Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Gretchen was at San Francisco start-up DroneDeploy serving as the company’s Vice President of Business Development and Regulatory Affairs. Previously, for over a decade, Gretchen served as AUVSI’s Executive Vice President, overseeing AUVSI’s global business development initiatives, international growth strategy, marketing, government relations and advocacy efforts for the unmanned systems and robotics industry.
Gretchen has been interviewed by over 100 print and TV media outlets including NBC, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, Fortune, Forbes, Politico, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, The Washington Post and National Public Radio. She has also testified before a congressional panel on issues related to unmanned systems, presented at congressional briefings and has presented keynote addresses and panel presentations at over 100 industry conferences and events across the globe.
Gretchen currently is the National Advisory Board Chairperson for UAVUS (uavus.org) and is the chair of the Advisory Board for the Drone World Expo. Previously, she served on the advisory boards for Skyward, Nightingale Intelligent Systems and Aerobo. She was formerly a member of Women in Aerospace (WIA) and the Association for Women Executives and Entrepreneurs (AWE). Gretchen has an MBA from the George Washington University and a BA in leadership studies from the University of Richmond.
Marke “Hoot” Gibson, Maj Gen (Ret)
President and CEO | NUAIR Alliance
Major General Marke F. “Hoot” Gibson (ret) is the president and chief executive officer of the NUAIR Alliance. Gibson directs the organization’s efforts to safely integrate unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) into the national airspace system (NAS) to include UAS operations being conducted in New York, Massachusetts and Michigan. He also oversees investments by New York state to put the region at the forefront of the UAS industry.
Gibson has more than four decades of experience in aviation and a proven track record of strong leadership. Prior to NUAIR, he served as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) senior adviser on UAS. Gibson as served as executive director of the NextGen Institute, which provides professional services to the UAS Joint Program Development Office. He also owned an aviation consulting firm.
Gibson retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2011 after 33 years of service. He held numerous senior command and staff positions earning him the rank of Major General. Gibson retired as the Air Force’s director of current operations and training where he led the startup of a new cyber career field and its integration into Air Force operations. He also worked on behalf of the Air Force secretary and chief of staff on ways to better integrate unmanned aerial vehicles into the national airspace. As the director of current operations and training, Gibson was also responsible for the startup of a separate career field and unique training path for those who fly Air Force remote piloted aircrafts today.
Gibson holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the United States Air Force Academy, a master’s of business administration degree from the University of Northern Colorado and a master’s of National Security Affairs from the National War College. Gibson serves on many advisory boards to include the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) board of directors.
Manager – Government Relations | Security Industry Association (SIA)
Joey is the manager of government relations for the Security Industry Association (SIA). In this capacity, he serves as the lead on state policy issues and works closely with the director of government relations and SIA leadership.
Prior to SIA, Joey worked in the government affairs department of Associated Builders and Contractors and also held a position with the Republican National Committee during the 2012 presidential election. Joey also interned for the U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science – International Relations from Auburn University.
